How would you describe a brand? As an identity? A recognisable
sign? A distinguishing colour, symbol, word or design that is associated with an
organisation, product, service or person.
For an organisation a brand is a first impression. And for
their consumer the brand is the ongoing connection that keeps the customer
coming back. There is a lot of expectation on the brand. It does all the
talking while you’re not around. Therefore you want to be comfortable your
brand is portraying the image you want for your business.
Of course this all goes without saying. Everyone sees the value in a great brand. But how do you achieve that?

For a brand to be effective, every touch point with the consumer needs to be monitored to ensure a consist branding message is being conveyed. There is no point being a trend-setter and selling the latest fashions if no one is visiting your website because your online presence is out-dated and “shabby”. Nor is it effective to have a stylish in-store fit-out if no one comes through the door because your exterior branding is not oozing the same style.
In today’s society where there is so much competition, you
need to be the full package. You need your brand to connect with your
customers. You need to have a consistent look and feel, and ensure your
organisation’s personality is felt at every customer touch point. As an
organisation you need to be in the right place, at the right time, looking your
best and standing out from the crowd.
